The Dodd-Frank Act made the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau the least politically accountable financial regulator in Washington, and new director Rohit Chopra is taking full advantage.
Mr. Chopra recently published an updated examination manual that will make it easier for the bureau to sue businesses for discrimination without evidence of intent. “We will be expanding our anti-discrimination efforts to combat discriminatory practices across the board in consumer finance,” the Biden appointee said.
