Government signed a US$200 million loan agreement on Tuesday with the Development Bank of Latin America (CAF) to finance road construction and rehabilitation in Trinidad.
According to the Ministry of Finance, this will include projects such as the Point Fortin Highway, Curepe Interchange, Toco Road, Road Safety and Traffic Management.
In March, CAF approved the loan (TT$1.4 billion) to improve T&T’s road network.
The company said the loan will be used through construction, rehabilitation and maintenance of roads, access roads and an overpass, together with the management, and planning actions carried out by the Ministry of Works and Transport (MOWT).
